Harold Lee Cox, 65 of Guntersville, formerly of Arab passed away suddenly Wednesday, February 14, 2024. Lee was born January 12, 1959, in Arab the son of Harold Ray Cox and Sara Jo “Sally” McDonald Cox. He was a graduate of the Class of 1977 at Arab High School and received his bachelor’s degree from UNA. He was an Agent for ALFA Insurance for 27 years at the time of his retirement, receiving agent of the year in 2017. He was thoroughly enjoying his retirement, especially spending his spare time substituting for the primary and elementary schools at Guntersville and Albertville. Lee and Jana lived life to the fullest, traveling and diving into new adventures with gusto, making the most of every moment they had together.
He is survived by his wife: Jana Downey Cox; children: Rachel Morrow (Ricky), Cory Lee Cox, Christopher Lee Cox (Mary Grace), Jeri Lynn Cordell and Sarah Halligan (Levi); grandchildren: Dylan Lee Morrow and Raylee Brooke Morrow; brothers: James Leighton “Jimmy” Cox and Jospeh Ray “Joe” Cox; two nieces, two nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 17, 2024, at Gober Funeral Chapel with Brother Randy Evers officiating and eulogy by Brent Jones. The burial will be in Arab Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Gober Funeral Chapel.
Pallbearers: Ricky Morrow, Cory Cox, Chris Cox, Dylan Morrow, Mark Mays, Levi Halligan and Greg Hinds.
