Harold Joe Barber – Obituary

haroldFuneral service for Harold Joe Barber age 76 of Priceville will be Thursday, August 27, 2015 at 3:00pm at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richard Richie officiating with burial in the Burningtree Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 6:00pm until 8:00pm Wednesday evening at the funeral home.

Mr. Barber, who died on Monday, August 24, 2015 at his home, was born on November 11, 1938 to Hubert Ernest Barber and Ruby May Murphy Barber. He, being born and raised in Priceville, Alabama, became a farmer with his Dad on their family farm. He continued to farm and raise cattle throughout his lifetime. He was employed as a machinist for 56 years, at Automatic Screw and Machine Products for 31 years and Specialty Machine Company for 25 years. During retirement he enjoyed many years of raising cattle, driving the dirt roads of the refuge, fishing the suzie-hole and living the good life! He was a Christian man, an ordained deacon, an uncle, a brother, a Father-in-law, a PawPaw, a Daddy and a Wonderful Husband. He was a prince – A Child of the King! He was preceded in death by his son; Keith Barber.

3 Daughters: Sis Hutchison and husband Tim of Priceville
Phyllis Smith and husband Barry of Minor Hill, TN.
Terri Hamilton and husband Keith of Danville

Daughter-in-law: Vickie Barber of Hartselle

2 Sisters: Jane Atchley of Priceville
Sandra Garner of Decatur

7 Grandchildren
3 Great Grandchildren

Scottie Parrish, Rand Hutchison, Joey Barber, Jonathan Grant Parrish, Jameson Barber
and Justin Byrd will serve as pallbearers.
