A Celebration of Life for Harold Gray McCullars will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Cremation Services of East Alabama. There will be a brief fellowship with family and friends. Harold’s dear friends, Frankie Stallings will lead us in prayer and John Hamilton will share some stories of his long time friendship with Harold.
Harold was born in Anniston, AL on May 29, 1940 to Clovis and Mary Cathleen McCullars. He passed away peacefully at home on August 8, 2024 surrounded by family.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 59 years, Gracie; his son Jimmy; his mother and father; brothers, Charles and Gene; and his sister, Robbie Grace.
Survivors include his daughters, Lee (Phil), Donna (Barney), Terry (Ray), Tracy, and Robin (Ronnie); grandchildren, Jerry, Jim, Amanda, Matt, Edward, Bryan, Misti, Tara, Dustin and Ashley; and numerous great-grandchildren, with special thanks to Ashton for being his little buddy for the last 10 years and to Amory, his neighbor, for being his friend and helper. Special thanks to his niece, Cathy (Syd) for her phone calls, visits and love.
Harold served his country in the Army from 1957-1960. He was stationed in Germany and he flew into Africa. His last place of employment was Hager Hinge from 1977 to 1998, where he retired. He was an electrical maintenance man, but he could fix anything. He loved working there and the people he worked with. His favorite pastime was fishing. He loved people and never met a stranger. He will be missed by many.
Special thanks to all the delivery people who helped him with his mail, groceries, and packages. Thanks to SouthernCare New Beacon Hospice of Anniston.
He is now with his beloved Gracie.
