Harold Glenn Miller, of Russellville, passed from this life on September 29, 2024, after a brief illness at the age of 80.
Harold loved football from a young age, playing first in a Pee Wee league, and later in high school. He later coached that Pee Wee league for many years. He was also a very enthusiastic fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Harold joined the IBEW Local 558 Apprentice Program in 1968, where he retired after 55 years. He worked as a Construction Electrician all over North Alabama and Southern Tennessee. He also served as a trainer and role model for upcoming apprentices.
Harold’s hobbies included fishing, woodworking, and gardening. He loved sharing his garden vegetables, handmade bowls, and entertaining fishing stories with everyone.
Harold was a devoted husband for 61 years, as well as a loving father. He had a kind word for everyone and was quick to help anyone in need. He enjoyed volunteering in his community at the Franklin County Archives and Scope 310. He attended Jonesboro Baptist Church.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 61 years, Dianne Bishop Miller; his daughter, Susan Miller; sister, Ann Nelson (Bob); several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Glasgow and Ada (Bowen) Miller; sisters, Carolyn Stephens and Gemma Miller Gillespie.
A graveside service was held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 02, 2024, at Oak Grove Cemetery, Co. Rd. 81, Phil Campbell. Spry Memorial Chapel assisted the family.
