Harold was an avid sports fan his entire life. He participated in sports in high school, the U.S. Navy and was a Dixie Youth baseball coach, with one of these youth teams participating in the Dixie Youth World Series. He also enjoyed cheering for Alabama football. Before his illness restricted him to home, he enjoyed the coffee group at Josh’s Corner and going to the YMCA. Harold retired from Ford Motor Company and Chrysler, where he worked hard to provide for his family. He will be greatly missed.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Edsel Holden and Dr. Alvin Sago for the assistance they provided to our father and to his wonderful caregivers, Cheryl Middleton and Jackie May, who provided loving care during the length of his illness. Dad also received wonderful care from Betty Hinton, Alice Carter and Jaydee.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a charity of your choice or to causes important to our dad: Hope Lodge, 1104 Ireland Way, Birmingham, AL 35203; YMCA of the Shoals; or to PAWS.
