Harold Gene Cabaniss, age 74 of Sheffield, died Wednesday, October 16, 2013. Visitation will be Saturday, 12-2 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home of Tuscumbia. His funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Frankie Sheats officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Sheffield.
Mr. Cabaniss was a Colbert County native and a member of Friendship Community Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; Charlie Lee and Mamie Dhorty Cabaniss; daughter, Diane Cabaniss Jeffreys; brothers, Lee Cabaniss and Elroy Cabaniss.
He is survived by his wife of fifty six years, Jo Ann Watson Cabaniss; sons, Steven and wife Roseanna, Tony and wife Melanie, Jerry, Chuck and wife Deb.; son-in-law, Leon Jeffreys; brother, J. C. Cabaniss; sisters, Marie Hargrove, Barbara Stratton and husband Stan; sisters-in-law, Betty Cabaniss and Lucy Cabaniss; grandchildren, Leanne Jeffreys and Cody Cabaniss.
Pallbearers are, Steve Hargrove, Howard Cabaniss, David Cabaniss, Jim Roy Cabaniss, James Rutherford, Jose Ruiz.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Loaves and Fishes ministry.
