Harold Elden Rittenhouse, age 78 of Winchester, passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Tullahoma on June 30, 1946, to the late Marvin L. Rittenhouse and Edna Mae (Bell)Clark. Before his retirement, Harold was a full-time farmer. Additionally, being a “Jack of all Trades,” he did plumbing and carpentry work, as well as car mechanics. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing and camping when he was able. He loved watching and cheering for the Tennessee Volunteers and Tennessee Titans. But most of all, he cherished the time spent with his beloved family. His family will remember his loving and kind nature, as well as his wonderful sense of humor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Clarence Ives Clark; grandparents, Carlton Leona Bell and Joseph Joe Bell; sisters, Shirley Ann Mears and Edna Laverne Smith; and granddaughter, Chasdy Renea Reed; great-grandson, Blakelynn Austin Thomas. Harold is survived by his loving wife of fifty-five years, Ina Marie Rittenhouse; daughters, Edna (Allan) Patillo of Decherd, and Melissa Ann Smith of Decherd; sons, Harold Joe Rittenhouse of Manchester, and Donald (Tiffiney) Rittenhouse of Hillsboro; grandchildren, Alex Langford, Kevin Langford, Mikey (Jennifer) Langford, Douglas (Amanda) Reed, Luke (Amanda) Reed, Jennie Mae Williamson, Etta Rittenhouse, and Maryse Rittenhouse, Spencer (Courtney) Allen, and Patricia Patillo; eighteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Tracey Bohanan of Winchester, Vickie Thompson of Winchester Springs, Jill Brown of Flintville, and Anita Counts of Pelham; and brothers-in-law, Coby Partin of Winchester, Darrell Partin of Winchester Springs, and Carl (Linda) Partin of Tullahoma. Visitation will be from 5-8pm on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Bro. Lester Ashley officiating.
