Harold E. Nethery, age 75 of Dora, was born in Barney on January 26, 1947. He passed from this life on October 23, 2022. He is preceded in death by his father, Delver Nethery; mother, Addie Beavers Nethery Plylar; brothers, William D. Nethery and Jimmy Nethery and his sisters, Sharon Nethery and Anna Hughes. Harold is survived by his wife, Charlotte Nethery; ex-wife and mother of his child, Hilda McCormack Nethery; son, Vince E. Nethery (Claudia); daughter Jennifer Hallman (Adam); grandchildren, Andrew Smith (Latanya), Hollie McDonald (John), Carlee Weber (Marius), Landon Hallman, Peyton Hallman and Jenna Hallman; great-grandchildren, Amyah Smith, Adalee Smith, Aiden McDonald, Zoey McDonald and Lukas Weber; siblings, Dennis Nethery, Terry Wayne Nethery (Deb), Auburn Nethery, Keith Plylar (Becky) and Nell Aldridge; as well as a host of extended family and friends. Harold was a graduate of Dora High School. He worked for Jim Walter Resources and retired after 30+ years of service. Harold was a member of Sumiton Church of God since he joined in 1954. He loved spending time with his family especially for family reunions and Christmas gatherings. Harold enjoyed watching Western movies so much that he developed a passion for traveling all over the Western United States. He enjoyed panning for gold and experiencing the rich history of the Old West. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2022 in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. Visitation from 12:30-2:00 pm. Chapel Service will begin at 2:00 pm. There will be no formal service at graveside. Harold will be laid to rest in New Horizon Memorial Gardens. Bro. Preston Headrick will officiate.
