Harold Douglas Owen It is with great regret that we announce the passing of Harold Douglas Owen, 88, of Ardmore, Tennessee. Harold passed away peacefully at Hospice Family Care of Huntsville Hospital on Thursday, August 1, 2024.
He was born November 16, 1935, to Grover C. and Lillie Sue Bryan Owen. He married Jeannette Cole Owen on February 24, 1962.
He was a member of New Grove Baptist Church. He was a dairy farmer, Lincoln County Farm Bureau Director, Lincoln County Farmers Co-op Director, and he performed at Ardmore Pickin’ and Grinnin’. He also served in the United States Army.
He was preceded by his parents, Grover C. and Lillie Sue Owen, brother, Donald Owen, sister, JoAnne Owen White, and nephew, Dusty Owen. He is survived by his sons, David (Mitzi) Owen of Ardmore, TN, Doug (Leanne) Owen of Nashville, TN, and Dan (Charlotte) Owen of Taft, TN. He is also survived by his grandchildren Heather Bevel, Derrick (Kelsey), Claire, Carter, Jana, Cooper, Clay, and Sarah Ryley Owen. He is also survived by four great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday August 2, 2024, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Service will be Saturday August 3, 2024, at 11:00 AM with Brother Roger Berry and Brother Drew Smith officiating. Graveside following service at Blanche Cemetery. The pallbearers will be sons David, Doug and Dan Owen and grandsons Carter, Cooper, and Clay Owen. Honorary pallbearers are Jackie Owens and Dwayne Owen.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Lincoln County Farm Bureau Ag. in the Classroom and New Grove Baptist Church.
Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home will be assisting the family with services.
