Dave was the son of the late Brownlow Villiers Wilson and Alice Joyce Mearns Gow Wilson. His father attended the British Naval Academy and served in both World Wars. Dave was born in Raton, New Mexico on October 25, 1939 and he grew up on a ranch near Larkspur, Colorado. After graduating from the US Naval Academy, he earned his wings of gold and then he was assigned to a squadron based out of San Diego. He embarked in the Carrier Yorktown for two seven months cruises. During the second cruise he rescued two downed pilots under fire just off the coast of North Vietnam for which he earned the Distinguished Flying Cross.

 

Dave was a devoted family man and a faithful follower of Jesus Christ. After serving six years on active duty, he earned a Master of Arts degree from the University of Denver and then a Masters of Divinity from Nashotah House Seminary in 1972. He served as an Episcopal Priest at Christ Church in Denver for twelve years and at All Saints Church in Winter Park, Florida for twenty-one years. He then moved with his dear wife to Franklin, Tennessee and served part time at St Bartholomew’s Church in Nashville for fourteen years.

 

Dave is survived by his beloved wife, Katrina Cakste Wilson of 61 years, his daughter Anastasia Brown, three grandchildren, Tatianna and Will Yale, and Natasha Troutman, and three great- grandsons, Townes, Barrett and Palmer Yale. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Kristina and grandson Wilson.

 

Gifts in memory of Dave may be made to St Bartholomew’s Church, Nashville, All Saints Church, Winter Park, Florida, M.D. Anderson in Houston, TX, or St Paul’s Franklin Building Fund.
