Harold David Dunlap

Harold David Dunlap 88 years old went to be with his Lord on August 22, 2023. Born in Pontotoc, Mississippi to parents Omia F. Dunlap and KatieLee McCord Dunlap. Harold attended school until joining the military. He served three years in the Army Infantry before switching to the Air Force where he served as a Training Instructor until he transferred into aircraft refueling. Harold spent a year in Vietnam and retired from the Air Force in Arizona. He was employed in the Alaskan oil fields as a heavy equipment operator until retirement.

While in Basic Training at Fort Benning, Georgia; Harold met the love of his life, while having dinner with his buddies. He married Betty Parr in March 1955 and enjoyed sharing life together for 68 years. He became the dad of two sons Johnnie and David. Johnnie had two children Cyndee Posey and Jonathan McIntyre of Huntsville Alabama.

Harold was an active and faithful member of The Church of the Nazarene from 1956 until his passing. He taught Sunday School, drove the church bus, ushered, and plowed snow to allow church services. He also served on the Church Board. Until his declining health prevented him; he was willing to contribute his energy, money, and time; whenever there was a building project or need.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents and son Johnnie and two sisters Janice Dunlap and Francis (James) Mattox; and four brothers Charles, William, Barnas, and Robert.

Harold is survived by his wife, Betty; son, David; grandchildren, Cyndee and Jonathan; and siblings, Samual, Carey, Brenda Betts, Danny, and Janelle Steward. He is also survived by great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and numerous nephews and nieces.
