Harold Clyde Abernathy, 79 of Oxford passed away on December 10th, 2023 at his residence.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Janice Abernathy; daughter, Jeannie Waldrep (Kevin); by his son, Clyde Abernathy II (Andrea), by his grandchildren, Brooklynn Houston (Jay), Jacob Howard (Faithlynn), Joshua Bowman, Ashlynn Abernathy, Anna Abernathy, A great-grandchild, Jasper Houston; and by his siblings, Aleen Lloyd, Mary Hester and James Abernathy.
He was born in Calhoun County, Al on February 15, 1944. He served his country in Combat during the Vietnam War, and later retired from the Anniston Army Depot. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse James Abernathy and Lydia Naomi Calhoun Abernathy; by his sisters, Magnolia Pettus, Lois Cochran, Joyce Carter, Anna Mathis; and by his brothers, JT Abernathy and Jesse Abernathy.
