Harold Clarence Jeffers, 74, departed this life to be reunited with his beloved wife, Helen, in heaven on April 4, 2015. Funeral services will held on Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Grant Street Church of Christ with Charles Riley and Jere Spurlin officiating. Visitation will be held immediately before the service from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at Grant Street Church of Christ with Ridout’s Brown-Service directing.
Mr. Jeffers was born December 14, 1940, in Eva to James Michael Jeffers and Lovie Geneva Roberts. He graduated from Eva High School in 1959. After graduation, he married Helen Montgomery, of Lawrence County, in 1961, and they made their home in Decatur.
Mr. Jeffers served in the Army National Guard from 1960 to 1966. He worked in the electronics industry in Huntsville for over 26 years. He was vice president of Passive Sales for North America at Pioneer Technologies as well as Director of Distribution and Marketing. Mr. Jeffers was a devoted member of Grant Street Church of Christ having served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 25 years, Helen Montgomery Jeffers; his mother, Lovie Roberts; and his father, James Jeffers.
Mr. Jeffers is survived by his two children, Melanie Jeffers Toranto (Steven), Todd Harold Jeffers (Jenni); five grandchildren, William Montgomery Toranto, Elizabeth Jeffers Toranto, Grady Alexander Jeffers, Mae Helen Tomlin Toranto and Anne Caroline Jeffers; two sisters, Wilda Jeffers and Carol Terrell; numerous nieces and nephews and the Alexander family of Eva.
Pallbearers will Earl Morris, Wallace Sanders, Patrick Terrell, Kevin Naumann, Ralph Slate and Allyn Crane.
Honorary pallbearers will be Julious Barrett and Hollis Alexander.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grant Street Church of Christ or Freed Hardeman University.
