Harold Alan “Corky” Hill, 67, of Decatur, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at his residence. Funeral Services will be Sunday, November 10, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Scott Justice officiating. Visitation will be from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM at the chapel prior to the service. Mr. Hill will be laid to rest at Burningtree Memorial Gardens in Decatur, Alabama.
Mr. Hill was born March 6, 1957 to James Harold and Myria Francis Ray Hill in Cullman, Alabama. He graduated from Austin High School in 1975. Corky and Tina married on September 25, 1981 and welcomed Joshua Alan Hill in 1985 and Megan Marie Hill in 1989. He retired in 2015 as the Produce Manager at Holloway’s Market after 37 years.
Corky was a devoted husband, loving father, and grandfather. He was an avid golfer; enjoyed spending time at the beach and playing cards. Corky was also a prankster and loved playing jokes on people.
Mr. Hill was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elbert and Grace Hill, and Rufus and Vera Ray.
He is survived by his parents, Harold and Myria Hill; wife of 43 years, Tina Hill; two children, Josh Hill (Kassi), Megan Miller (Jon); seven grandchildren, Kealeigh Hill, Lawcyn Hill, Mya Stripe, Quintez Stripe, Brylee Miller, Trinity Miller, Skylar Miller; and a host of other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Josh Hill, Lawcyn Hill, Jon Miller, Quintez Stripe, Jerry Collier and Stevie Beard.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the National Kidney Foundation.
Shelton Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
