Harley D. Willbanks – Obituary

Harley D. Willbanks, age 76, of Tuscumbia, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 26, 2018. The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday, April 28, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will be on Sunday, at 2:00 p.m., at Freedom Missionary Baptist Church, with Tommy Crowden and Marley Willbanks officiating. The body will lie in the church for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Hyde Cemetery.

Mr. Willbanks was born February 15, 1942, to the late Jessie Willard and Vaud Nellie Willbanks. He was a lifelong resident of Colbert County, and was retired as both a baptist preacher and bus driver for Basden Transportation. Harley was a member of Freedom Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Willbanks was preceded in death by his wife, Angie Willbanks, and sister, Virgie Speegle.

Survivors include children, Dewayne Willbanks (Suzanne), Lee Willbanks (Mona), Anthony Willbanks (Charron), Angela Crowden (Tommy), Sheila Evans (Duane), and Sherry Wallace (Roger); siblings, Marley Willbanks, Gene Willbanks, Frank Willbanks, Dean Tollison, Connie Riddle, and Robbie Green; seventeen grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Brannon Willbanks, Cody Willbanks, Chandler Evans, Austin Evans, D.J. Wallace, and Casey Harkins. Honorary pallbearers include Travis McGraw, Treston Crowden, Kaleb Crowden, Lucas McGraw, and Aubrey Wallace.
