Hannelore Charlotte Townsend, 69, of Madison, Alabama passed away at her home surrounded by her family on January 22, 2024.
She is survived by husband, Michael Townsend; daughter, Jessica Power (Randy); sons, David Townsend (Kari), Jefferson Magness (Myka) and Christopher Magness (Felicia); grand kids, Abby Townsend, Jacob Magness, Caden Townsend, McKenzie Spinks and Savannah Power; survived by brother, Uwe Kleihs; brother- in-law James Townsend; sisters-in-law, Brenda Hicks (Rodney) and Linda VanWinkle (Harold); and many amazing and wonderful nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by father, Helmut Kleihs; mother, Anna Maria Charlotte Kleihs; sister, Gerhild Sherman; brothers, Erbo, Willie, and Helmut
Kleihs.
Hannelore met Mike, her husband of 43 years, in Wittlich Germany, while he was serving in the US Army. They spent 20 enjoyable years serving the US Army, 13 of them were spent in Germany and the other 7 years in El Paso Texas before retiring from Army service to Madison Alabama in 1998.
No funeral service is planned at his time.
Celebration of life event is planned at a later date.
