THE SHOALS – Fans of The Blues, Soul and Rock had a night to remember Thursday evening at the W.C. Handy Music Festival. Christine Ohlman played to a packed house at The Marriott Conference Center. Backed up by The Decoys, Ohlman belted out her special brand of Blues. This was her second appearance at Handy, and Ohlman, a native of Brooklyn and Hartford, told the audience that she found a second home in Muscle Shoals, the Center of the universe for Soul Music.
Of course a Muscle Shoals music show would not be complete without our own funky Donnie Fritts, so naturally he came on stage to sing with Christine some songs that he and Eddie Hinton had written.
