HANCEVILLE-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a two-vehicle accident involving a motorcycle has taken the life of a Hanceville man:
“A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 5:40 a.m. Friday, October 3, has claimed the life of Hanceville man.
Billy J. Smith, 44, was fatally injured when the Honda motorcycle that he was operating was struck by the 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander driven by Michelle L. Caples, 39, of Hayden. After the initial impact, Smith was thrown from the motorcycle and was pronounced decease at the scene.
The crash occurred on U.S. 31 near Cullman County 529, approximately one mile south of Hanceville, in Cullman County.
Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
