Hancel-Smith-1470841841Hancel Lee Smith, age 83 of Ford City, died Tuesday, August 9, 2016. Visitation will be Thursday, 6-8 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. His funeral service will be Friday 11a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Eddie Alexander officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Mr. Smith was a Colbert County native and a member of Mt. Pleasant Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Alvin Parker Smith and Ruby Ledlow Smith Nichols; sons; Bobby and Anthony Smith; five brothers; and five sisters.

He is survived by his wife of forty-eight years, Laura M. Smith; son, Jeffery Smith; daughters, Teresa Ann Jimenez, Phillis Kay James, Sarah Rodriguez; brother, James Smith; sisters; Jewell Neal, Carolyn Franks, Judy Lynch and Rose Smith; eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild.

Pallbearers are Noland, Melvin, Carl, Elton, Aaron, and Milton Smith.

Honorary Pallbearers are Tod Jimenez, Larry Sherrill, Dustin Smith, Steven Bostick and Tod Jimenez II.

The Smith family express special thanks to Katie, Kim and Fran of Gentiva Hospice. They are true angels here on earth.
