Hamilton Man Arrested; Charged With Robbery 1st Degree In Limestone County

LIMESTONE COUNTY-The Limestone County Sheriff’s Department issued a statement concerning the arrest of a suspect wanted in an armed robbery:
“On Tuesday, August 15, 2023, Deputies and Investigators responded to the 7000 block of Snake Rd. in the Clements Community on a report of an armed robbery.
An 88-year-old victim reported a man approached her with a gun and ordered her to give him cash. The offender fled the scene.

Investigator Jeff Kilpatrick was able to locate video evidence of the crime and sent out the suspect’s description to all area law enforcement.

On Thursday, August 17, 2023, Captain Caleb Durden and Investigator Jesse Gibson located the offender fishing at the Limestone County Boat Ramp near Lucy’s Branch. Ronald Brian Peoples, 45, of Hamilton, AL, was taken into custody without incident.
Peoples still possessed the weapon used in the robbery. After an interview with Investigator Kilpatrick and Captain Durden, probable cause was found to arrest Peoples for Robbery 1st Degree. An Aniah’s Law hearing will be set later with a judge.
Peoples is held in the Limestone County Detention Facility and no bond has been set in this case.
