Haleyville Man Dies In Single-Vehicle Accident In Franklin County

HALEYVILLE-The Alabama Law Encforcement Agency reports a single-vehicle accident in Franklin County has taken the life of one person:

“A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 7:55 p.m. Thursday, June 6, has claimed the life of a Haleyville man.

Don W. League, 77, was fatally injured when the 1990 Ford Ranger that he was driving left the roadway and struck a ditch. After the initial impact, the Ford struck a fence, a culvert and a tree. League was not using a seat belt at the time of crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash occurred on Franklin County 6 near Franklin County 69, approximately six miles northeast of Haleyville, in Franklin County.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
