Hal Hicks, 68, died Sunday, June 21, 2015, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born January 2, 1947, in West Point, Alabama, to Leonard and Mona Hicks. He was of the Baptist faith and a diehard Alabama Crimson Tide fan, Roll Tide. He retired from Cooper Tire after 25 years of service. He enjoyed camping and the numerous trips he took on his Harley Davidson. He loved his puppy, Abby.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. John Williams officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
He is survived by the love of his life, Wanda Hicks of Shannon; his children, Mike Hicks (Julie) of Georgia, Mark Hicks of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Michelle Hicks of Cullman, Ala.; his stepchildren, Brandie Wise (Doug) of Belden and Alex Crook (Randi) of Smithville; one sister, Carol Tuton (W.A.) of Cullman, Ala.; one brother, Ricky Hicks (Mimi) of Cullman, Ala.; his mother-in-law, Dellie Maharrey of Okolona; his grandchildren, Cody, Alyssa, Lauren, Travis, Abbigail, Sadie, Wyatt and Haiden; two brothers-in-law, Ben Maharrey (Paula) of Florence, Ala., and Donald Maharrey (Sherry) of Okolona; several nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers will be his longtime work crew from Cooper Tire.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital. Visitation will be noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday.
