Obituary of Dr. Hal Conn Dilworth Jr.Hal Conn Dilworth, Jr., 81, of Hinkle, passed away on December 3, 2024 in Huntsville, AL. Though named after his father, Hal marked his own course from the very beginning. The only child of Margaret Grace Trussell of LA and Hal Conn Dilworth of MS, spent his childhood moving around the US. He retired in 2002 after 31 years of service as Lieutenant Colonel Judge Advocate General, earning a Bronze Star, Vietnam Service Medal of Valor and various other awards.

Hal loved his family and his farm. He met his wife, Maggie, while on leave from Vietnam in Sydney, Australia in 1969. They raised 3 daughters mostly in Huntsville, AL before retiring to the family farm in Hinkle. After years as a hobby pilot, Hal’s passion in retirement, was climbing onto his backhoe to clear out a ditch or bush hogging a trail through the woods along the creek. Hal was a loving, supportive, wise, and entertaining father and grandfather. He served his community for years as president of the Redstone Arsenal Flying Club in Huntsville, and locally as a member of the Roscoe-Turner Alcorn County Airport board, Corinth Rotary Club, and New Hope Presbyterian Church.

Hal is preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and Hal Dilworth.
