H.C. Bland, Jr., 78, passed away Monday, April 15, 2024, at his home in Pontotoc, MS. A United States Army Veteran, H.C. was an avid fisherman and hunter until his health declined. He was a member of Springville Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon.
Survivors include his wife, June Bland; his children, Bro. Scotty Bland (Donece), Michelle Cheney (Glenn), and Jason Bland; his grandchildren, Angel Byas, Brandon Byas (Smanatha), Meghan Franklin (Earl), Jacob Bland, Joshua Bland (Lindsay), Abigail Bland, and Adriana Bland; 16 great-grandchildren; one sister, Sandra Smith, all of Pontotoc; several nephews and nieces; and his special friends, Bagwell, Bowen, Newell, Pennington, and Patterson families.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Elaine Bramlett Bland; and his three sisters, Jane Tutor Gregory, Betty Harrison, and Pat Chambers Abner.
Services will be Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at 1PM at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc with Bro. Scotty Bland officiating. Visitation will begin at 11AM and continue to service time. Burial will follow in Springhill Cemetery. Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Bland, Brandon Byas, Clyde Tackitt, Bobby Davis, Tim Bowen, and Rodney Newell.
