Gwyn Patterson of Hazel Green passed away on Friday at her home surrounded by loved ones. She was 71. She was a veteran of the United States Air Force and had retired from the Chrysler Corporation.
Gwyn was a committed Alabama football fan and she enjoyed cooking. She was truly a loyal and life-long friend to to those who knew her.
Gwyn was a loving wife and mother and was most-proud of her family. She had a natural, God-given heart of care for others and always put the needs of others before her own.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William E. Jones and Mary Louise Jones; Her son, Rodney Heath Patterson; Her brother, Lloyd Jones.
Surviving family members include her husband, Roger Patterson; Her son and daughter-in-law, Brandon & Kim Patterson; Her son, Nicholas Patterson; Her grandchildren: Ethan Patterson, Riley Patterson, and Devan Patterson; Her brother, Sherrill Jones; Her sister, Linda McLemore; She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.
The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 5pm until 7pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home with Dr. Harold Fanning officiating. Burial will be in Charity Cemetery.
Gwyn will be remembered for her kind and loving heart. Her memory will live on in the lives of her family and all who knew her.
