Funeral service for Gwennell Taylor, 78, will be Sunday, June 16, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Enon Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Peebles officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. The body will lie in state for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Enon Cemetery in Cullman Co. Visitation will be Saturday, June 15, 2013 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mrs. Taylor died on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. She was born May 10, 1935, in Cullman County to William Howard Wright and Verna (Hawkins) Wright. Mrs. Taylor was married for 58 years to Eschel L. Taylor, who preceded her in death in 2008. She was a proud and loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. She was a retired federal employee, but continued to work 5 hours per day for the Morgan County Commission on Aging as the Center’s Manager. She enjoyed gardening, travel, and doing events with her horse and carriage service.
Survivors include:
Two Sons: Richard Taylor (Debe), Roseville, MI and Steven Taylor (Terri), Huntsville, AL
Five Grandsons: Timothy Taylor, Patrick Taylor, (Katie) Christopher Taylor, Hunter Taylor, (Ebony), and Fisher Taylor
Five Great Grandchildren: Sierra Taylor, Triston Taylor, Asher Taylor, Elora Taylor, and Riley Taylor
Pallbearers will be Hunter Taylor, Fisher Taylor, Jason Wright, Timothy Taylor, Patrick Taylor, Christopher Taylor.
In lieu of flowers: family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Red Cross.
