Gwendolyn Loveless, age 89 of Haleyville, AL. passed away Saturday November 9, 2024 at her home. She was born November 1934 to Loyal and Velma Bates.
Visitation will be Friday November 15, 2024 from 11:00AM – 12:00NOON at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville, AL. Funeral service at 12:00NOON in the chapel, with Danny Brooks officiating. Burial to follow in Winston Memorial Cemetery.
Gwendolyn was a housewife who spent her days doing what she loved most, cooking, making her various arts and crafts, baking her prized made from scratch Carrot Cakes for the holidays and taking care of her pride and joy, her grand kids and great great grand kids. Family was so important to her, as well as her church family at Beech Grove Baptist Church. Her own personal ministry was mailing out cards, not only during the holidays, but most importantly to those in need, grieving, suffering or simply just because she thought of someone. She is now with our Lord and Savior, rejoicing for eternity. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Gwendolyn is survived by her daughters, Debbie Lambert and Judy (Don) Whitman; son, Tim Loveless; sisters, Ann Clark, Glenda Vaughn and Patsy Sullins; grandsons, Jeff Loveless and Dustin Loveless; granddaughters, Sylvia Dick and Katie Loveless; great grandchildren, Gracie Loveless, Jeffery Loveless, Alice Werling, Theo Dean Werling, Racheal Werling, Kaitlyn Caston, Will Hood, Jacob, Jayden and Jessica Bristow.
She was preceded by her husband, John “Newman” Loveless; parents, Loyal and Velma Bates; son, Johnny Loveless; brothers, Billy Bates and Jerry Bates; sisters, Donna Rhodes and Brenda Head; granddaughter, Kristie Whitman Hood.
The family wishes to show appreciation to Hospice of North Alabama and their team, Brittney, Jenny, Terrye and Ashton for the quality care and attention these last few years for our mother and grandmother.
