Survivors include his wife of 36 years Debra Hildenbrand Ruppel, Children; Victoria (Chris) Thomas, Deborah Ruppel, Gus (Joann) Ruppel II, Benjamin (Niki) Ruppel, Sarah Brayshaw, Jeremiah (Deanna) Hildenbrand, Steven (Abby) Ruppel, Niccole(Dhanraj) Bachan, Joel (Ashley) Ruppel.
Several grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive.
