TUSCUMBIA-On Saturday experience a rare opportunity to buy a very fine guitar from a legend. The guitar collection of legendary guitarist, Travis Wammack will be held at the Alabama Music Hall of Fame, 617 US Highway 72 West in Tuecumbia on Saturday beginnig at 10:00 AM.   There will be a preview at Auction Site: Friday, July 12, 10:00am – 4:00pm with over  60 Guitars, 40+ Amps and Other Accessories. Travis Wammack started out at an early age and released his first record at age eleven, making his mark in the music world with his 1963 hit, “Scratchy”.  Wammack’s skills landed him in Muscle Shoals where he teamed with legendary producer, Rick Hall, at Hall’s Fame Records.  His licks can be heard on many hit records.  He traveled the world as Little Richard’s band leader, and performed on many national syndicated television shows as well as Bill Clinton’s inauguration party. Wammack became known as the fastest guitar player in the south.

Travis now works with Muscle Shoals Music Marketing and has added Producer to his already impressive resume.  He is a member of the Memphis Music Hall of Fame, has received the Professional Musician Award from the Alabama Music Hall of Fame, and was inducted into the Southern Legends Entertainment & Performing Arts Hall of Fame.  Gibson Guitars presented Travis with a new Gibson ES-335 electric guitar as part of their documentary honoring legendary Gibson ES series players.  He was recognized by the Rockabilly Hall of Fame as a rockabilly legend.
