Grettis Maria Smith, 58, of Iuka, Mississippi, died Thursday, October 2, 2014, at Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center in Amory, as the result of a pulmonary embolism. Grettis was born April 18, 1956 in Chicago, IL. She was a retired licensed practical nurse, and attended school at Northeast Mississippi Community College. Grettis loved spending her time reading a good book, taking vacations to the beach, and spending time with her children and grandchildren, who brought so much joy to her life. Visitation is scheduled for 5:00 until 9:00 p.m., Friday, October 3, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 4, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Bro. Rodney Windham. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers include Dale Aldridge, Jason James, Matthew James, Duane Berry, Abe Weaver, and John David Murphy. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Survivors include one daughter, April McKee of Iuka; one son, Chris Smith of Red Bay, AL; her mother, Betty Marie Hill of Iuka; a brother, Mark Hill of Iuka; four grandchildren, Gracie and Addy McKee, and Samantha and Charlie Smith; two nieces; one nephew; and her best friends, Trev Clark, Carolyn Busby, and Diane Boyd. She was preceded in death by her father, James F. Hill; and her grandparents, Ben and Verna Hill, and G. P. and Lucille James.
