Ret. CSM Gresham Oneal Harris, Jr., age 55 of Oxford, Alabama, passed away Monday, September 18, 2023, at Grady Memorial Hospital, Atlanta, Georgia.
He served his country with honor and pride as CSM, Command Sergeant Major, 20 years, stationed at Fort McClellan 310th Chemical Company. He was loved and respected by all who served with him and under him. He genuinely cared about his troops and went out of his way to help them. He was one of the good ones. He retired and married the love of his life, Tina. After retirement he remained active serving his fellow vets by helping run the county’s Veterans Day Parade and activities, raised money for Vets in Need and remained on call for any soldier that needed to talk or anything else. He was loved by many, respected by all, he will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Tina Johnston Harris; stepdaughter, Brooklyn Johnson; brother, Sam Harris and wife; and two nieces.
He is preceded in death by his father, Gresham Harris, Sr. and mother, Artie Franklin Harris.
