Gregory Lee Fanning of Decatur, Alabama, formerly of New Market, passed away on Monday. He was 61.
Mr. Fanning had been a long-time volunteer firefighter and EMT with New Market Volunteer Fire Department where he loved helping others and had also worked with Lifeflight as an EMT. He enjoyed dirt track racing, riding Harleys, and he enjoyed cooking.
Surviving family members include his son, Josh Fanning (Cheryl) and his granddaughter, Madison Paige Fanning; his niece, Heather Burrough. He is also survived by other family members and many friends.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 11:30am until 2pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 2pm at the funeral home.
