Gregory Forrester Payne, age 62, of Sipsey passed away Saturday, January 14, 2023 at UAB Hospital. Visitation will be 6:00 PM Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at Bell Sumiton Chapel. Bell Funeral Home Sumiton has been entrusted with the arrangements.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Brooks Payne; father, Floyd Payne; sister, Madonna Hays; brother, Jeffrey “Coon” Payne; and cousins Emmett Madison and Thomas Madison.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Sheila Tuggle Payne of Sipsey; daughter, Toni Smith (Heath) of Warrior; granddaughters, Devin Smith (Lee) of Warrior and Samantha Finwall (Christian) of Bagley; grandsons, Cameron Smith of Warrior and Joeb Finwall of Sumiton; great grandchildren, Sophia, Jaidyn and Bentley; brother, Steve Payne of Sayre; special nieces, Anna Hays and Stephanie Danner (Jason); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
