Grandy Hugh Thompson, age 66, of Collinwood, TN, passed away on September 20, 2024. He was born on June 30, 1958, in Michigan, he was the son of the late Willie Laynard and Lora Iva Jean Brewer Thompson.
Grandy’s heart held a special place for his beloved wife, Reta Denise Thompson, who preceded him in death.
Throughout his working years, Grandy dedicated himself to the craft of painting houses. Beyond his profession, he found joy in working on cars during his free time.
He is survived by his sons, Bradly Collin Thompson, and Brandon Hugh Thompson; sisters, Linda Annete Thompson Williams, and Jeanetta Cathrine Mullins; and grandchildren, Shianna Denise Thompson, and Steven Hugh Thompson.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Willie Laynard and Lora Iva Jean Brewer and his wife, Reta Denise Thompson.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm and on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am service time at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at 11:00 am at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN. Burial will follow in the McGlamery Cemetery in Collinwood, TN with Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting the family.
