Grand Jury Indicts Former Business Owner

FLORENCE– Charlotte Couch Killen, 60 of Killen Alabama was arrested on Theft of Property 1st and Theft of Property 2nd warrants over the weekend, September 26. She is the former owner of Morgan’s Jewelers in the K-Mart Shopping Center in Florence.

The indictment alleges that Killen, while still in business, had taken customer items in on consignment. When her store closed, she never paid or returned the items to the original owners after the victims contacted her multiple times.

Killen was released on $23,000 bond. Warrants in this case were issued during the September session of the Lauderdale County Grand Jury session.
