Grady W. Bradford, age 87, of Hot Springs, died Tuesday, October 6, 2015.
He was born on November 12, 1927, in Lawrence County, Alabama, the son of William Bradford and Velma Poole Bradford. On May 17, 1952, he married Frances Hughes who preceded him in death on August 29, 2005. He was also preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Thomas Landers; and one sister, Fannie Simpson.
He was a member of Central Baptist Church and a United States Army veteran. In 1952, Grady went to work for Reynolds Metals Company at the Listerhill plant located in North Alabama, he traveled and worked at plants throughout the United States and ended up in Hot Springs where he retired after more than 30 years of service. After retirement, Grady devoted his life to taking care of his loving wife, Frances. When he had his first grandchild he was known as “Pop,” he loved that so much from that time on he was known as Pop to all. Pop will be loved and missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Joe Godbehere, of Hot Springs; two grandchildren, Casey and Corey Kines and Matt and Anna Godbehere, all of Hot Springs; three great-grandchildren, Jude Godbehere, Avery McBride, Wyatt McBride; and their father, Jared McBride, all of Hot Springs; one sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Don Thompson, of Moulton, Alabama; nieces, nephews and a host of wonderful friends including Monica and Louis Terrazzas and their children.
A private graveside service will be held.
