Grady Daniel, the only child of the late Ernest “Joe” and Zelma Daniel  departed this earth to join his deceased ancestors and beloved wife, Pat Allen Daniel on October 31, 2024 at the age of 85.

Children left to mourn his passing are Roger (Cathy Slayton) Daniel, Robin  (Bill) Shelton, Connie (Allen) Kirkland, Lorie (Craig) Hale, and Phillip Hobbs.  The grandchildren are Rodney, Garrett and (d. Dillon) Daniel, Jenni Collins,  Traci Shelton, George Shelton, Heather Kirkland Johnson, Joshua Kirkland, Adam Kirkland, Blake Kirkland, Tyler Hale, Riley Hale Schroeder, and Joshua  Hobbs. He was also blessed with several great-grandchildren and great-great  grandchildren.

In earlier years, Grady enjoyed working with standard-bred harness horses  and supporting his son that competed in horse shows with his champion  pony. He also found enjoyment in rebuilding the engines of various vehicles he  owned. He was a skilled asphalt spreader operator and was employed with  Ashburn and Gray and then with Shelby Contracting while living in Huntsville,  AL. Later he moved back to Tennessee and worked with the Lincoln County  Highway Department until his retirement in 2001. Until his recent illness, he  enjoyed going each morning for breakfast, his favorite meal. He would drive to  see his children regularly to catch up and pass the time. He was a courteous  and well-mannered man and seemingly quiet. His sense of humor wasn’t  known to all but his family and the guys at the former Gowan Shell Service  Station, would always share a laugh or two with him while he was there visiting.

The family will receive friends on Sunday beginning at 12pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home.  Funeral services will follow at 2pm in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Ray Gardner officiating.   Burial will follow the chapel service and will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Flintville, Tennessee.

Hazel Green Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.

***** Please note that the family has requested no flowers.
