Gracie Lee Bates, age 90, Hackleburg, AL. passed away Monday January 2, 2017. She was member of New Hope Baptist Church in Haleyville, AL.
Her visitation will be Friday January 6, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville, AL., with her funeral at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel. Burial to follow in New Hope Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, J.C. Bates; children, Bobby (Carol) Tate, Danny (Debbie) Tate, Stephen Tate, Patricia (Don) Davidson and Michael Tate; brothers, L.V. (Cordelia) McCarley and Truman McCarley; 26 grandchildren, 43 plus great grandchildren and 8 plus great great grandchildren; a host of family and friends.
She was preceded in death by parents, Elgin Thomas and Melvertie Raper McCarley; sons, Ealton Tate, Terry Tate and Timothy Tate; grandsons, Brandon Tate, Tony Tate and Stephen Tate; brothers, Carson, Carlton, Travis and Huey McCarley; sisters, Lesie Umfress, Vertie Mae Stevens, Macy Jones and Carolyn Smith.
