Gracie Faye Haley Hyde, age 73 of Greenbrier passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at Skyline Medical Center, Nashville, TN. at 10:40 pm.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 pm on Thursday September 23. 2021 at Austin Bell Funeral Home, Greenbrier Chapel with Bro. Jack Martin officiating.
Family will receive friends from 10 am till time of the service. Burial will follow at Springfield Memorial Garden.
Gracie was born July 6, 1948, at home on the Ben Baggett Farm in Adams TN. She was born to the late Robert Lester and Emma Lou Jackson Haley. Gracie had a sweet spirit about her, coming from her love for the LORD. She was saved and baptized. At Whitakers Grove Baptist Church as a young girl and carried out her Christian walk through her life.
On October 20th, 1974, Gracie married Joe Henry Hyde at Southern Heights Baptist Church in Russellville, KY. He proceeded her in death on August 1, 2015, after 41 years of marriage. After marrying, Joe & Gracie became faithful members of Greenridge Church of Christ in Greenbrier.
To this union was born one son, Joseph Patrick Hyde. Gracie was a devoted and loving mother staying home to care for her son until he was in high school.
She worked as a Candy Striper at Springfield Hospital and a Nurses Tech at Russellville Hospital; she was also worked for a good while at Arby’s making biscuits for breakfast. Gracie retired from the Cheatham Park Elementary School where she was a Cafeteria associate for several years.
Gracie is survived by her son, Patrick, his wife Kanda Hyde. Gracie was a proud grandmother to her two grandsons, Todd age 9 and Toby age 5. She loved her family dearly. She often babysat for the boys and enjoyed them teaching her to play their games.
She is also survived by her brothers, Ernest Haley of Oakville, KY., Jerry, and wife Peggy Haley, Russellville, KY, Sisters, Betty Sheldon, and Martha Jane White of Springfield, TN, Also, Barbara Hyames of Russellville, KY. And sister-in-law Patty Haley, Goodlettsville, TN.
She is proceeded in death by her brothers, Robert Henry Haley and Phillip Haley, and Robert Lester JR, who passed at birth, Sisters Francis Ballance, and Laura Haley.
What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.
Gracie was a good Christian wife, mother and friend. Working hard as a child in the fields and at home taking care of her family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
