Mrs. Grace Rutledge, 87, of Muscle Shoals, AL, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2015. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 5, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. to12:30 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 12:30 p.m. in the chapel with interment to follow at Colbert Memorial Gardens. Brother Larry Kilpatrick will be officiating. Colbert Memorial Chapel of the Shoals is assisting the family.
Mrs. Rutledge was a housewife, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother .She was born in Florence, Al. where she graduated from Coffee High School in 1944, and was a member of Cox Blvd. Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Homer E. Rutledge, her parents, William Amos Jones and Minnie Logan Jones; sisters, Mary J. Moore, Catherine J. Berry and Peggy J. Holt.
She is survived by sons; William E. Rutledge of Mentone, Donald A. Rutledge ( Dana) Chattanooga, daughters; Rebecca R. King (Doug) Atlanta, and Jean R. Quillen (Joe) Killen. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and other family members. Chris Allison, Taylor King, Bob Berry, Charlie Hussey, Larry Vinyard and Matt Crane.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to caregivers, Terri, Katrena, Haley, Grace, Jennifer and Sarah, Liz and Tabitha with Southern Hospice. Your kindness, dedication and compassion will always be treasured.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cox Blvd. Church of Christ in her honor.
