Grace Massey  Garrard

Grace Massey Garrard joined her Heavenly Father on Sunday, July 25, 2021. She was 89 years old, born on July 14, 1932 in Pulaski, MS growing up in Morton, MS. She resided in Starkville MS for almost 70 years including her last years at The Beehive. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Visitation will be at 10:00 am on July 29th in the Chapel at Welch Funeral Home with funeral services immediately following at 11:00 am at Welch Funeral Home.

Grace honored her name as she was so beautiful inside and out and full of grace known to many as Lady Grace. She spent her life being a Wife, precious Mother of five and homemaker. She was known for her exceptional cooking skills and sharing her food with the community and family.

She will be greatly missed by her family, her children Glenda (Steve) Massey (Starkville), Mike Garrard (Columbus), Jenny (George) Sherman (Starkville) and her 13 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter, her sister Joyce Lindsey (Morton, MS) and brother Gaines Massey (Jackson, MS).

Grace was preceded in death by her parents Gatha and Bennett Massey, husband B.F. Garrard, son Steven Garrard, daughter Belinda Buchanon, grandson Steve Jennings, sister Helen Black and brothers Willie Ray Massey, Bunk Massey, Arthur Massey and Howard Massey.

Pallbearers will be Todd DeMuth, Scott DeMuth, Scott Alexander, Brian Portera, Bryan Kilgore and John Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Dallas Massey, Rhett Jones and Buck Smith.

We will be forever grateful to our beehive family Audrey and Hermon Trulove, Chris Eades, Brandi Mann, Bridget McLendon and numerous others for their tender loving care.
