Mac-Pruitt-1460577338Goy Mack Pruitt was born on April 12, 1929, to the union of Roy and Nell Pruitt and departed this life on April 13, 2016, at approximately noon, surrounded by his family and a host of friends, making his stay on this earth 87 years and one-half day.

Mack was a lifelong resident of Henderson County and was drafted in the U.S. Army at a young age and served in the Korean War, being assigned to the M.A.S.H Unit. Upon returning home from Korea, Mack met and married Betty Davis, on February 7, 1954, and to this union was born two children, Debra Pruitt Story and Sammy Pruitt.

After a period of working as a carpenter, Mack began his lifelong occupation of farming with his father and in later years with his son. Mack engaged in hog farming, row cropping and cattle farming for more than sixty years in Henderson County. He had many interests but none more important than his family. Farming was his life blood and his family’s annual trips to Branson, Missouri, provided many great memories.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty Pruitt, and his children: Debra Story and Sammy (Patsy) Pruitt, and granddaughters: Danielle (Jamie) VanCleave, DeAnna Liles and Brandi Pruitt (Colton Dyer); and a sister, Gay Scott, and nine great- grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mack Pruitt are scheduled for 3:00 PM Friday, April 15 in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home with Bobby Snider officiating. Interment will follow in the New Hope Methodist Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Edward Scott, Greg Deere, Dale Rogers, Phil Johnson, Billy Holmes and Mike Story. Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie Holmes, Jerry Lewis, Roy Lee Maness, Bobby Gross, Mark Usery, Cody Usery, Tom Camper and Jimmy Burton. The family will receive friends on Thursday beginning at 10:30 AM.

My deepest sympathies are with the Pruitt family at this difficult time. God promises to resurrect our loved ones in the near future and bring about better conditions on the earth. I hope these following scriptures will be a comfort to you.

John 5:28,29 , Revelation 21:3,4 , Psalms 37:11,29

Sincerely, Joyce
