Mrs. Gloria Ruth Moore Kahrs, age 90, of the Morgan City area passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Shepherds Cove Hospice.
Mrs. Kahrs was born on July 26, 1929 to the late Charlie Rema and Agnes Holton Moore. Mrs. Kahrs retired from Williams Oil Company after 30 years of serving as an office administrator. She was a member of the New Canaan Baptist Church in the Union Hill Community of Morgan County.
Mrs. Kahrs is survived by her daughters, Amy Lynn Kahrs, Julie Lee Kahrs; nieces, Kathie Davis, Paula Gay (James), Patti Wimpy (David); nephews, Murray Wilkerson (Kathy), Steven Wilkerson; beloved caregiver, Carylon Henderson Fechser; a host of great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Edward R. Kahrs; brother, Tracy R. Moore; sister-in-law, Jean Raburn.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at New Canaan Baptist Church, Union Hill Community of Morgan County with Bro. Eldridge Criscoe & Bro. Eric Thomas officiating. Burial will be in New Canaan Cemetery with Brindlee Mountain Chapel Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will include David Wimpy, Bobby Goode, Mike Prince, Troy Pritchett, Dean Mullis and Ricky Allen.
Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at New Canaan Baptist Church, Union Hill Community of Morgan County.
