Gloria Jane Smith Gloria Jane Finney Smith, 69, died at North Mississippi Medical Center on Thursday, October 12, 2023. She was born August 18, 1954, to Alvis Everett Finney and Melba McGregor Finney. Gloria Jane was a devoted wife, to William “Odell” Smith for over 50 years, and mother to her three children. She spent the majority of her career in manufacturing including Delta International and most recent was with Thomas Light. While her health allowed, she attended Endville Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, taking care of her rose bushes, going dancing, and she adored her pets.

Gloria Jane is survived by her husband, Odell Smith of Belden; two children, Brenda Jones and her husband, Scottie, of Walnut, and William Odell Smith, Jr. of Belden; six grandchildren, Anthony Jones and his wife, Patricia, of Walnut, Andrew Jones and his wife, Nicole, of Walnut, Michael Allen Jones of Walnut, Kathy Smith of Plantersville, Bobbie Smith of Plantersville, and Katie Smith of Plantersville; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Larry Finney of Columbus, Georgia; brothers-in-law, Dusty Smith and his wife, Jennifer, of New Albany, and James Smith of Belden; ten nieces, and 15 nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Michael Smith; two sisters, Brenda Kirkland, and Sheila Finney; brother-in-law, Henry Smith; and sisters-in-law, Arlene Jones, and Faye Chunn.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. until service time Sunday, October 15, 2023, at Pegues, Tupelo.

Services honoring her life will be 2 p.m. Sunday, October 15, 2023, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of Pegues with Bro. Titus Mathis officiating. Burial will be at Oak Forest Cemetery in Pontotoc County.

Pallbearers will be Anthony Jones, Andrew Jones, Michael Jones, Dusty Smith, Derrick Hefner, and Billy Beaty.
