Gloria Faye Burks was born on December 29, 1953 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the daughter of the late Clifton Edgar and Estelle Travis Johnston.
On June 30, 1979, she was united in marriage to Jimmy Creal Burks, who preceded his wife in death on November 11, 2006.
Mrs. Burks was a member of Peoples Tabernacle Church in Savannah, Tennessee. She worked as a delivery driver for Domino’s Pizza for 19 years. Gloria enjoyed cross stitching, working crossword puzzles, watching game shows, and playing BINGO.
Gloria Faye Burks departed this life on June 29, 2023 in Florence, Alabama at the age of 69 years and 6 months.
She is survived by her sons, Clifton Creal Burks of Savannah, Tennessee and Casey Devon Burks and his wife Tonya Renae of North Little Rock, Arkansas; brother, Lamar Johnston and his wife Sandra of Pearl, Mississippi; and grandchildren, Kaylee McKinlyn Gallien, Brookyn Dawn Burks, Clifton Creal Burks, Jr., Alyssa Carol Burks, Amayzah Faith Burks, Eslyn Joy Burks, and Wonderly Grace Burks.
In addition to her parents and husband, Gloria was preceded in death by her brothers, Edgar Lee Johnston and Charles Ray Johnston.
