Gloria Clark Wilson, 91, passed peacefully on Wednesday, September 11, 2024. She was born in Jasper, Alabama to William Brady Clark and Alice Stovall Clark. Gloria graduated from Walker County High School and attended Auburn University where she met her husband, Bob Wilson.

After marrying and settling in Huntsville she became an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church serving as lay leader, Sunday School teacher, member of the Sanctuary Choir and co-chaired the committee for the Sanctuary needlepoint kneeling cushions. Glo shared her artistic talents painting many murals for Trinity’s Summer Adventure and gifts for family and friends. She was a member of the Grace Club Auxiliary, Les Joyuese, Alpha Gamma Delta sorority and Athena Book Club.

Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Jean Clark Ward of Florence AL and her husband of 67 years, Robert Gordon Wilson. She is survived by her son, Robert G. Wilson, Jr. (Lou) of Auburn AL; her daughters, Alice Kay Pierce (Steve) and Jean Ann Carter (Alec) of Sylacauga, AL; grandsons, Drew Thomasson (Sarah), Birmingham AL, Gordon Maples (Oleander), New Orleans LA, Scott Thomasson, Birmingham AL, and Chandler Wilson, Auburn AL; great-grandchildren, Addison and Elliot Thomasson; and many loved nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Saturday, September 14th, 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 3 p.m. in Maple Hill Cemetery, Huntsville, AL with Dr. Charles Gattis officiating.

Memorial gifts may be made to Trinity UMC Music Fund, 607 Airport Road, Huntsville Alabama 35802 or a favorite charity.
