Gloria Ann Cannon Sanders, age 80, of Arab died Monday – February 22, 2016 at her residence.
Mrs. Sanders was born on August 4, 1935 in Andalusia Alabama, the daughter of Herbert Cannon & Bessie McCormic Cannon. Moving here from Gadsden, she had called Arab her home for the past 56 years. She retired from the Arab Elementary School after many years as a secretary.
Mrs. Sanders was a member of Gilliam Springs Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Good Samaritans Ladies Sunday School Class, B. Team Angels and a Peacemaker.
She is survived by her sons: Scott Sanders (Sheila), Sean Cannon Sanders; grandchildren: Alan – Michael Sanders and Sarah Catherine Tapley (Mathew); great grandchild: Frances Eleanor Tapley. She was preceded in death by her husband: Stonewall Sanders, he died on December 6, 1981; brother: George Cannon and a sister Elena Robertson.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday – February 24, 2016 at Gilliam Springs Baptist Church, will lie in state 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. with Brother Jamey Pruett officiating. Burial will be in Gilliam Springs Cemetery, Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel directing.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Sawyer Huguley, Logan Sulfridge, Drew Davis, Burl Robertson, Dale Robertson, Jim Robertson and John Noble.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday – February 23, 2016 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel
