Glenn Green Ingouf
Born January 23, 1932, at home in Decatur, Alabama, to John H. and Mabel Blackwell Green. Graduated from Decatur High in 1949. Graduated Alabama College for Women [Montevallo], 1953. Glenn completed two years toward an MRE at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in 1957 then received her Master of Discipleship diploma from NOBTS in August 2023.
She was Decatur’s First Special Education Teacher and taught a class for physically disabled children in Decatur, 1953-1955. She married John E. Ingouf on August 14, 1956, at Central Baptist Church. She served as pastor’s wife at Union Baptist Church, Joyce, Louisiana, and West Hartselle Baptist Church, Hartselle, Alabama.
Glenn served as a missionary with her husband October 1960-June 30, 1989, in Thailand briefly and Indonesia primarily. She then related to the South and Southeast Asia Regions as John served at the offices of the IMB, Richmond Virginia, 1989-1999.
She and her husband retired to Decatur, Alabama in 1999 and were active members at Central Baptist Church.
Glenn loved the Lord and His Word. Her favorite ministries were teaching and leading believers in discipleship studies. She loved to sing and enjoyed music. Up until this past summer, she was very active in water aerobics and also walked for exercise. She and John prayed together daily for family members and missionaries around the world.
She is predeased by son Michael Jonathan Ingouf – April 2-3, 1957 [5 ¾ months-Premature],and daughter Ann Catherine Ingouf – July 13, 1961 – August 9, 1972.
She is survived by her husband John Edward Ingouf, children,Susan Lynn Lafferty [Todd], John David Ingouf [Casey] Julie Glynn Ingouf, grandchildren Becca Lafferty, Jenna Long (Josiah), Jonathan Lafferty (Ashley) Laura Ingouf, Anna Ingouf, Emily Ingouf, and great-grandchild Theodore Long.
