A Funeral Service for Glenn Earl Harris, age 72 of Ashland, was Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland with Jared Harris and Pastor Randy Harrelson officiating. Burial followed at Clairmont Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Harris passed away on Tuesday, March 9, 2021, in Lineville. He was born in Talladega, AL and spent all of his life in Clay County. He proudly served in the US Army and worked for the Post Office for 42 years. He also served as Fire Chief for the Idaho Volunteer Fire Department for 45 years. He loved his family and cherished watching all the activities his grandchildren participated in.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce D. Harris; two sons, Daniel and Tabitha Harris of Ashland and Jared and Elizabeth Harris of Silver Creek, GA; four grandchildren, Destin, Darren, Sarah and Emily Harris; sisters, Dorrie and Tom Hayden of Chandler Springs and Ina Kay and Jimmy Rooks of Delta; brothers, Donald and Maurine Harris of Ashland and Dwight and Brenda Harris of Ashland; many nieces and nephews, a host of friends, and other extended family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James Emmitt Harris and Nancy Kathlyn Creed Harris.

Pallbearers will be Nick Jordan, Blake Horn, Lane Horn, Evan Horn, Destin Harris and Darren Harris.
