Glenn Alan McGregor went to be with Jesus on February 22, 2021 at the age of 69.
Glenn was born on August 23, 1951 to Marion and Dorothy McGregor in Suffern, NY. He graduated from Ridgewood High School in Ridgewood, NJ. He asked Jesus into his heart in 1973 and fervently followed his Lord. In the last few years, he was eager to experience his forever heavenly home.
He was passionate about photography, music and playing the drums, collecting seashells, tracing his genealogy, and cheering on the AL Crimson Tide. He enjoyed wearing his Santa suit around the holidays and bringing joy to others. He also loved to support his grandchildren, Mason and Kylie, in all their activities and he loved cheering on the Eagles at Golden Eagle Stadium. One of his claims to fame is being the drummer for Bon Jovi when he was first starting out playing shows in NYC.
Glenn was proceeded in death by his parents, Marion and Dorothy, his aunt Martha (who was like a mother to him), and siblings (Sherry and Grace).
He was survived by his daughter Naomi Sanford (Shane), his son Scott McGregor (Morgan), grandchildren (Mason and Kylie), siblings (David, Mark, Daryl, Leslie) and nieces and nephews.
Glenn loved his family dearly and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A heartfelt thank you to Amedisys Hospice and Shanelle Reynolds (who we consider part of the family) for taking such wonderful care of our dad for the last 21 months and Mary Beth Pennington for helping care for him in TN. We were grateful for everyday that we had with him.
A private service with family and close friends will be held in Knoxville, TN at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made in Glenn’s memory to Samaritan’s Purse.
